Designed in 2007, Guido Gerlitz’s Glass Paw Pet Bowls prove that even the family pet can enjoy good design. Available in three sizes and many colors, these Pet Bowls can be used as functional objects or stand alone as decorative pieces.

Why Glass?

It all started when our Newfie "Cali" wasn't drinking enough water.  We took her to the vet and were asked "What is she drinking out of?".  We were using stainless steel and it turns out that some dogs don't like the taste transfer.  Okay, well, I didn't want to use plastic or ceramics out of concern for chemical leaching and bacterial growth in a porous surface. So glass was the obvious non-porous material, after all that's what we drink out of.       After searching the internet far and wide, I couldn't find a design that I liked, so I made it myself.  The bowls are blown from one solid piece piece of glass and the interior is completely round.  The rim is designed for you to be able to pick it up, but doesn't have an edge for a dog to grab.  The interior bowl is completely round so that the dog can get to all of the food - no yucky seams filled with slobber and crumbs.  Guests would say

WOW, THOSE ARE GORGEOUS BOWLS!
